“Words are a form of action, capable of influencing change”
It’s said that actions speak louder than words – but carefully crafted content delivered the right way can effectively influence the behaviour of your target audience.
Dinniss Communications specialises in creating and delivering strategic B2B and B2C content to support its clients’ goals and improve their market performance and profit growth.
Consistency of message is key, while remaining fresh, engaging and, above all, credible to a variety of audiences through appropriate channels, whether in print or online.
Long-term relationships – some established more than 30 years ago – underpin Dinniss Communications’ success in achieving the desired results on behalf of its clients, maintaining a clear understanding of their objectives and their audience.
Current managing director Marty Dinniss is the third generation of his family to follow the path begun by his grandfather Bill Dinniss upon forming Wellington-based Dinniss Cleal in 1969.
After many years PR experience in Canada and the UK, Marty’s father Philip returned to his native
New Zealand in 1979 and established Dinniss and Associates as a sole trader.
Marty joined Philip in 2004 to form Dinniss Communications.
Since its inception, the company has delivered a wide range of communications and media liaison campaigns, supporting brand and product promotion, sponsorship and event management as well as board-level government liaison and crisis management.
Dinniss Communications is now a full service agency managing end-to-end strategy and implementation of marketing and stakeholder communications.
Marty formed Dinniss Communications with his father Philip in 2004 and has since taken over management of the company.
Marty’s wealth of public relations knowledge, combined with his managerial background in education and the elite sport and recreation industry, offers clients a broad range of organisational and strategic communications skills and experience.
He regularly provides a calm head in a crisis and has a strong track record in providing robust communications strategies for businesses ranging from large multinationals to local owner-operators.
Marty has the added advantage of being able to test his negotiating skills at home with his wife and two daughters; when those skills work well, he can usually be found on a mountain bike, a windsurfing board or a pair of skis.
Publishing & Planning Director
Dave manages the extensive range of client publications Dinniss Communications produces and ensures they meet a high level of consistency in brand identity and quality.
With more than 15 years’ industry experience covering journalism, B2B and B2C communications, publication design and print production, Dave’s skills and knowledge offer diversity and consistency to our clients’ activities.
With an MA in English under his belt from King’s College London, Dave’s a stickler for grammar and punctuation – no comma dare be out of place on his watch and don’t even get him started on the collective singular!
In his spare time, Dave can be found relaxing on the Kapiti Coast, out on his mountain bike or sweating to within an inch of his life at a Bikram Yoga studio.
Senior Account Manager
Meagan manages and writes for various client projects, bringing journalistic passion and genuine curiosity to her work. She has a combined honours in journalism, French and Spanish, and spent several years before moving to
New Zealand travelling and writing in three languages.
Meagan’s friendly, outgoing personality is a natural fit for her role in establishing client relationships and encouraging others to share their stories. This extends to work social events, of which she is the self-appointed overseer – there’s no sneaking out the door at five on a Friday when Meagan’s around!
Outside work, Meagan – originally from Canada – enjoys tearing up Wellington’s mountain bike tracks, playing guitar and exploring her new
New Zealand home.
Our design supremo Jess hails from Bavaria and arrived in New Zealand six years ago, via the UK and Iceland. A connoisseur of hop-derived beverages, Jess prefers to mix beer with rock and roll rather than work.
Ever the professional, Jess has many years experience as a graphic designer under her belt and is also a qualified photographer. From publication design and layout to DM, posters, banners, flyers, email and social media campaigns, she’s got it covered, providing support throughout the production process from concept to delivery.
What many people don’t know about Jess (until we published it online!) is that she collects spoons, and has even named her cat after her favourite obsession. She claims that her feline friend believes itself to be a dog: we don’t know if it was called Dog, whether it would believe itself to be a spoon… Rather than dwell on this conundrum, Jess keeps herself entertained by scaling climbing walls and playing the double bass.
Conor covers a wide range of client work in support of our account managers – which is kind of fitting for a mixed martial arts fan.
Conor learnt how to craft knockout copy at the National Business Review and is adding to his armoury with the guidance of Dinniss’ content marketing ninjas. He also has experience in sales and customer service from which to draw from.
Hailing from the Mainland, he’s tasted life in the City of Sails and is now realising where the action’s really at – our culturally rich capital; a scene he’s busy getting invloved in.
